Hello '08 Poly Campers

It's time to start thinking about our evening community meal within PolyParadise '07. This is also our group meeting time and sharing time. So, even if you don't want to partake with the community - you are encouraged to come and share your experiences from the day and night before. We also use this time to talk about camp business and get to know one another.  For those that have never camped with us before, our tradition is to have a community meal together each night (Mon-Fri)  (about 6pm)

For those who are new to PolyParadise - your kitchen includes: 7 6-foot tables, 1 large 2-burner propane stove, (4) 2-burner camp stoves, asst. utensils (cooking and serving), many pots and pans, spices, foil, plastic wrap, Ziplocs, community cooler storage, etc. 4 large stock pots, and a BBQ grill.

Any coolers in the community cooler area will be drained and iced each day. The community water jug is also located in the community kitchen area. Please bring 5 gallons per Car to donate to your fellow campers hydration. This cooler is filled and iced each day for community use.

Since the group is so large this year, we are encouraging folks to get together on providing a main dish. 50 is a lot of folks to cook for . So, one group can do a dish for 25 and another group can do a dish for 25 - everyone else will bring side dishes complimentary to the theme set by the first volunteer.

The MAIN dish of this meal is a DONATED meal cooked by a volunteer or group of volunteers. Planning should be made to make enough of this MAIN dish to accommodate all of the PolyParadise camp members.

Other PP campers are ENCOURAGED to contribute a side dish for any, all or some of the Main Meals that have be spoken for. That way each day all of us get to have a chance at being a Gourmet Chef, while secretly adding our special ingredients. Of course mine is PLAYA DUST!!! Remember Playa Dust is a condiment, goes well with everything.

There are some folks already stepping up to the plate . . Here's where we are so far:

Wednesday:

AZBurner - Pot Luck - 6:00-8:00p

This will be the 7th year that PolyParadise will host the AZBurners Pot Luck Gathering on the Playa. I am unsure as to the number of persons who will attend this event. Though in '06 we had over 250 people in attendance.

This event is a Pot Luck to all AZBurners, so I expect quite a few people coming over during the day to bring stuff over or to cook at our place or get things ready at our place. If you would like to contribute to this Pot Luck dinner that would be great, though it is NOT a requirement.
