Burning Man Before? Yes - '06, '07

Why Burning Man? I finally feel as though I’ve found a place I almost fit! My mundane friends think I’m adventurous, creative, and wild while my Burner friends think I’m quite mundane! ;-) I love the energy and sense of community. I came away from Burning Man last year with such a wonderful sense of myself and my place in the world. I finally felt something more than just being a mom or wife/girlfriend. I discovered there was something bigger than my own little world I had constructed and most of what I believed in was really very petty and narrow and wasteful. I’ve streamlined my life over this last year (still working on it); transient friendships have ended and new ones have begun as I detoxify my life (still working on that, too!) I felt I could accomplish more than I ever had, and I did! I hope to take another step forward this year!

My Life: Mom and Office Dweller during the week. On the weekends, I’m whatever I am as the mood strikes! I enjoy sewing, cooking, wine, good vodka, travel, and especially reading! I’m developing quite an interest in geology. I love my kids, cats, and a good road trip! I don’t care for heavy, serious topics—life is way too short for it! I want to laugh, love, care, live, and let live. What more is there than that?

Volunteer on the Playa? I will be doing a greeter shift or two this year and working in the PP Kitchen with Hypno! I will also be helping with set-up and tear-down of camp. I’m sure I’ll be greatly looking forward to the hotel suite in Reno come Monday!

Burning Man Advice: As Diana says: Moisturize!! You’ll need a good lip balm as well; and lotsa water and sunscreen! Be sure to eat at least twice a day and get out there and explore!
