When, where and why did you decide on attending:
In 2005 I quit my job in Houston and went on a wild spiritual journey that involved a pagan festival in Maryland, serving a Poly couple in California for a month, living in an artists collective in Phoenix and spending a year in Ethiopia. In all these places talk of Burning man kept coming up. So I brought water and lots of canned food and went. Once I got there I knew I was home.
Why do you keep going back?
It’s the only place in the US where I’ve feel like I can say I’m at home.
What would you like to experience at Burning Man in 2008?
I’ve never been with a camp before so I’d like to help out as much as possible and experience being part of a group. I’d like to help out with a radio station if possible since I used to do public radio and really miss it and always loved listening to it at BM. I’m bringing a friend I met in Ethiopia who is visiting the US for the summer from London. So I’d also like to have a good time showing him around. I also loved the carcass wash which is what made me want to camp with poly paradise. I loved the emphasis on everyone being beautiful and the respectful way people were served.
