Where do you call home? Grew up on a beach in South Florida, stopped by Philadelphia to go to college and forgot to leave.
Been to Burning Man before?
2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. Camped at Poly all but the first year.
Why Burning Man? I’ve been an entrepreneur and workaholic most of my life and most things not related to work became suppressed. When I turned 50 I realized I better try to cram in all the stuff I neglected to do when a workaholic so Burning Man has been part of my “rehab”...the best twelve-step program I’ve ever seen for having fun.
Art Projects? After two years of procrastinating, I finally got my solar powered blender built and brought it to the playa. “Dr. Blendo’s Solar Powered Smoothie Machine” got great comments and many people were amused seeing a blender out in the middle of the desert powered by the sun and making smoothies. It appeared on a bunch of websites after the event. It was lots of fun but a lot of work. Taking a break this year with it...but will be re-engineering it (always wanted to make a brain-controlled daiquiri machine)...and hope to have it back next year. (That’s Naomi in the picture...she taught me how to make a smoothie.)
My Life? I’ve been single all my life...probably a result of my business. I’ve had many wonderful relationships over the years, but always gravitate back to being single. I have a daughter who I met when she was 17 and, as of a year ago, I have a wonderful grandson. My daughter and I snowboard together, but she’s taking a few years off until the grandson learns...can’t wait for that!
